Den st\u00f8rste udvidelse nogensinde. Det har grundl\u00e6ggende forandret unionen: hvor fokus tidligere var rettet mod syd, mod Middelhavet, s\u00e5 er det i dag meget mere rettet mod \u00f8st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De elleve lande l\u00e5 indtil 1989 i den sovjettiske interessesf\u00e6re. Gennem voldsomme oml\u00e6gninger af samfundene betalte de en h\u00f8j pris for at blive til markeds\u00f8konomier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vi har rejst i Polen og i Bulgarien og d\u00e9r fors\u00f8ger vi at finde svar p\u00e5 de mange sp\u00f8rgsm\u00e5l: Hvordan er det s\u00e5 g\u00e5et siden optagelsen i EU? Gik udvidelsen for hurtigt eller greb parterne en historisk mulighed for forsoning og udvikling? Har demokratiet sl\u00e5et rod i \u00f8st?
